Mayor Rick Sollars has organized a charter advisory group that will meet periodically and discuss possible improvements to the document, which was created in 1968. Eventually, the group's suggestions will be vetted by the administration and City Council.

Should any amendments/revisions to the charter be supported by a majority of the council, they would then be put on the ballot. For any changes to take place in the charter, they would have to be passed by a majority of Taylor voters.

Bubba's 33 is a family sports restaurant serving stone-baked pizza, burgers and beer. It's founder, Kent "Bubba" Taylor, is also the CEO of the Texas Roadhouse chain. The average Bubba's 33 location is approximately 7,800 square feet and holds 321 guests.

The City now has a $5.4M unassigned fund balance (rainy day fun) v. just several years ago, when Taylor had a $5M shortfall and was under a State of Michigan-mandated deficit elimination program.

The City of Taylor's Planning Commission OK'd plans this week for a new BJ's Brewhouse/Restaurant in the Eureka Road-Pardee area. It will be built in the Southland Center outlot.

Host Dr. Paul Reeves and Karl Ziomek discuss the new development with Mayor Rick Sollars. The trio also talks about the wide-ranging developments along Eureka Way! including renovations inside Southland Center, the new Menards, La-Z-Boy and many other business developments.

BJ's will be building its top elevation in Taylor, and will offer outdoor seating, mirco-brews and uses local brew masters for many of its offerings.

It also offers a "Buy a Hero a Beer" program nationwide, so if you want to buy a beer for a local police officer, firefighter or military personnel in a certain location, you can do so. BJ's is heavily involved in the "Wounded Warrior" program.
