The DriveTime Automotive Group Inc., based in Tempe, Arizona, is coming to the City of Taylor. It will take over the old Taylor Ford location on Telegraph Road, just north of Goddard. That site was owned by the Ray Whitfield family.
Host Dr. Paul Reeves, Mayor Rick Sollars and Karl Ziomek discuss the news on this week's podcast.
DriveTime sells, leases and finances care to customers with credit issues. The company was formerly known as Ugly Duckling, before being renamed DriveTime in 2002.
It has spun off many companies, includes Carvana, GO Financial, Silverrock Group and Bridgecrest Acceptance Corporation. As of 2015, it was in approximately 130 locations in the U.S., with 3,800 employees.
